My sister and I had fans like this one, I think we had them on our bedroom wall for decoration. The design was a bit different but the style was the same - bamboo handle with very thin opaque material that had a painting on it.

Souvenir Fan
Apparently these were popular souvenir items! I found several on eBay. My sister and I each had one, either given to us by Dad after a trip for work or by my older sister. I think it was from New Brunswick or Nova Scotia. I could only find fans from the US on eBay.
